Bhau Kalchuri: Meher Baba's Lion
DVD only ― $12.00

On the last day of 1952, Avatar Meher Baba gave Bhau Kalchuri prasad of one Banana. Enraptured, Bhau devoured the banana, skin and all. From that moment on Bhau devoted his life to the Ancient One. Bhau's given name, "Vir Singh," means "Virtuous Lion," and Baba's sign for him was "Lion." Under Baba's rigorous guidance, Bhau indeed became a Virtuous Lion who unstintingly shares his warmth and experiences with Baba lovers throughout the world.

The DVD includes an interview of Bhau with Alexandra Marks, and as a bonus, there's a past interview as well. In both, Bhau discusses the question that invariably comes up: Baba's message in regards to three-quarters of the world being destroyed. Bhau discusses the nuances of the topic in both interviews and he offers pieces of the puzzle. Putting these pieces together can hopefully give a clearer picture.

In these two interviews, Bhau Kalchuri is succinct in his responses and the beauty of his living with Baba as one of His close ones comes through vividly throughout. In the bonus interview, Bhau discusses about Baba's message on drugs. This takes on new meaning today, as drugs, both recreational and hardcore, have once more gained a stronghold. As ever, Baba's messages come through, relevant and crystal-clear, and Bhau delivers with brevity and heart.

And as an added bonus, the DVD includes wonderful footage of Baba and His lovers climbing Seclusion Hill at Meherazad. His laser glances and flowing movements offer a tiny glimpse of what it must have been to be in His presence during that very special time. Much of this film footage is newly discovered, wonderful, and has been lovingly restored. If for no other reason, the DVD is worth having to watch this seldom-seen, restored footage over and over again.

Among the topics covered in these wide-ranging interviews:
The dream of Illusion
Meher Baba and His Manifestation
The peril of suicide.
